SIA Cricket was established in 1996 in Tampa, Florida by cricket enthusiasts. Over this period it has maintained a strong sporting presence in the local area. The main goal of the committee is to promote the game of cricket in all its glory at Tampa. SIA Cricket Committee with the support from Students of India Association and other fellow students is making all efforts to provide the necessary infrastructure for the game of cricket. Through their hard work and determination, the game has become highly organized and very competitive. We organize 2-3 tournaments every year in which more than 18-20 teams participate. SIA makes no profit from these tournaments. Since most of the students are far away from their homeland, this event brings us close to India.

Cricket, one of most universally popular games of all time, is played in areas such as India, Europe, Australia, the Middle East, and the West Indies. Known as a "gentleman's game," cricket is similar to American baseball in style of play. The tournament is open to everyone. Those who enjoy playing baseball may find cricket equally fun and even more athletically challenging.
